I am supposed to be meeting with AP this afternoon but I feel like cancelling our date. I have two nasty ingrown hairs that look awful!! Has this happened to anyone else and if so, how did you deal with it??

To the men: Is it a turnoff if your woman's pussy isn't picture perfect???

Seriously, I want to cry. We've only been seriously intimate once before, about two weeks ago, and I had a little razor burn going on but it wasn't bad. Now, my pussy looks terrible. I don't want him to think I have cooties. Cry Help!! I have about two hours to decide whether to go forward with our date today.

Do you have any Visine on hand? I just read that is what porn stars use for razor burn, so it stands to reason it might take the inflammation out of ingrown hairs, too. The person said it works in 5 min. flat.

If that doesn't work, just turn the lights out and make it dark where he can't get a great look down there. Maybe mention to him you shaved and have a couple of ingrown hairs.

I'm assuming since you haven't checked back in that you went on your date? Please let me know how it went and if the Visine worked.

As it turned out, something came up at work for me this morning and I wasn't able to get out of my office in enough time to make our meet up worth it. I did manage to get some Visine, but it doesn't really seem to have helped. Oh, well. It's funny how things work out. Hopefully when we arrange to get together next week, my kitty will look pretty.

Ohhhh, Blondebomb,
I had my area completely waxed about 10 days ago… MM and I plan on meeting this week, and there is already some 'growth', but I mentioned it and he just poo-pooed me … it's still much better than the overly aggressive hair 'au naturel' -- I can't get rewaxed for another 2 weeks, and I refuse to shave, the 'stubble' is just plain nasty. use tweezers, to get the ingrown hair, and use Visine and/or Preparation H for the swelling/redness. It should be fine from an aesthetic view, but honestly, once the juices get flowing, (and chime in here GUYS) I don't think it matters all that much Laugh Laugh

When I shave, I have a bath with the water as hot as I can bear it.
I soak for a while – have a read of a book for 15 mins.
Then shave using sensitive shaving gel and a damn good sharpe razor.
After shaving and rinising away the gel I then use hair moisturiser and leave it on while I shave the legs and pits. Then rinse.
For the next few days when I shower I do exfoliate and moisturise this seems to reduce the ingrowing hairs.

"Strictly for Females" topic to discuss.. So nice of guys in our forum to just read and not contribute something just for the sake of responding !! I hardly have a clue about this for my W and AP have never discussed such things with me before.. 2 Cheers to our Guys for their sensibility !!

I won't get to be intimate with my AP for another 2 months, but I've been stressing about this so much. If I shave, I'm good for one day and then I get razor burn like crazy. I haven't waxed in ages, but I think I'm going to try that route. Any suggestions for the amount of lead time on a waxing? For example, will it be irritated for 2 days after, and then I'm good for a week before the ingrowns come along?

Sassy, I usually wax also but because I didn't have enough lead time, I shaved. I usually get a wax about three or four days before a planned rendezvoux with MM. I am blonde (duh) and my esthetician has a theory that since blondes have finer hair, they can be more prone to ingrowns because they don't have the strength to push through the skin if anything is blocking the follicle. Hence it is important to always exfoliate!!!

I am so happy to report that my two ingrowns are much improved today and I just found out late yesterday that AP and I are going to have the chance to spend an entire day together this weekend!! I should be good to go by then!

I have been getting waxed for years, and my aesthetician recommended using salt in the shower for exfoliating. Just take regular, cheap salt, mix with a little almond oil and scrub. I used to get ingrowns after every waxing.

As far as lead time, I really only need a few hours and I am good. :)

Timely topic, I got a brazillian yesterday, it had been a while.

I'll exfoliate and also use "tend skin" to minimize ingrowns.

I won't be seeing OM for 2 weeks unfortunately, but since I will be traveling I had to get my wax early. Will be packing tend skin and my tweezers!

Bored12, yes I agree, even the stubble is so much nicer than the natural look, for me. I feel much sexier.

I have very sensitive skin and had always gotten razor burn before I started using men's pre-shave oil and post shave balm. It is super effective and I never have problems with it anymore.

A little late on this thread, Sorry.

Short answer, NO, it isn't a turn off necessarily. Would I like it better if it looks like a fresh, pink peach? Yes. Will I be turned off by a couple of little in grown hairs? No. I'm sure my balls aren't always perfect for her either. :D My advice: If your guy flees at the sight of a couple of (explainable) red spots, get a new guy!

My Lady shaves but I have noticed stubble, a little rough on my tongue but not a show stopper at all. I preserver somehow. Laugh

Care to share the brand? I'm blonde and desperate!

I use a roll-on product specifically to prevent/treat razor rash called Get The Bump Outta Here. I know- weird name, but I absolutely LOVE this product!

I use an epilator, yep, that's right – ouch! Followed by Khiels "Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion". I've had this routine for years and it works perfectly for me.

Don’t you dare remember me the moment I start forgetting you.

Do all of the women here shave/wax EVERYTHING? Maybe I'm old, but that seems so painful and time-consuming. Not to mention , ITCHY. I shave the lower half of that area, leaving the top trimmed and neat.

I'm with you sunsetmoon. Plus there's something about the idea of being completely bald down there that bothers me. I get having all the pertinent parts easily accessible to MM's tongue. But I've always felt like I want to look like a woman, not a porn star or a little girl.
